What We Do

Spokane Shadle-North Lions Club (SSNL) of District 19-E, is a charter member of Lions Club International, the largest service club organization in the world. All Lions Clubs adhere to the motto ‘We Serve.’ The money raised by each Lions Club can be used to support specific causes in the community for which the Club feels there is a need. In other words, each Club is unique in that it chooses the projects it wants to support.

Over the past 61 years, the SSNL Club has supported many causes, projects, and needs. Although the Club’s main focus continues to be providing glasses and hearing aids to those less fortunate, the Club also supports:

  • Camp Stix, a diabetic camp for kids
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Spokane
  • Christ Kitchen
  • Cup of Cool Water Ministries for street kids
  • Eyeglass recycling for third world needs
  • The Women and Children's Free Restaurant
  • Make a Splash, a local free swimming pass program for underprivileged youth
  • Wishing Star of Spokane
  • Lions Leader Dog Program
  • Powderhounds
  • Soul to Soles, a local program providing underprivileged you with new shoes & socks
  • MS Society, Greater Northwest Chapter
  • The Hope School, a local school for youth with hearing loss
  • The local “Toys for Tots” Christmas drive
  • Spokane Guild School Foundation
  • Project ID

. . . and more than a dozen other worthy causes!

Our club emphasizes having fun while helping others. If you have any questions about SSNL or would like to join, please contact us at WeServe@SpokaneShadleNorthLionsClub.org.

Build Your Community

We believe that the world gets better and problems get smaller when people unite to serve their local and global community. Lions help where help is needed in our own communities and around the world with unmatched integrity and energy. Since 1917, Lions have strengthened communities through humanitarian projects and hands-on service. We serve neighbors who live next door and people on the other side of the world that we may never meet

Be a Lion!

Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in doing volunteer work to improve their communities. Membership is by invitation. If you are interested in being invited to join an existing Lions club, go to the Lions Club International Website and select Find a Club Near You to locate a club near you.
